Asmaz Energy Communication Construction Limited Company will realize Turkey’s first biogas power plant that will produce electricity and heat from poultry manure (chicken in particular) in partnership with Afyon Güc Birligi Ltd. Co. in Afyonkarahisar. Our chairman, Mehmet Akif ASMAZ, has denoted that the plant, that will be laid soon, is expected to meet 4 percent of the city’s requirement for electricity. ASMAZ Energy, as a solution partner, will perform construction, electricity and mechanical installation applications within the scope of the project.
ASMAZ Energy Communication and our Energy Chairman, Mehmet Akif ASMAZ, has introduced the project of Biogas Power Plant in the panel organized on the subject of ‘Energy Policy and Renewable Energy Sources in Turkey’, hold on 01.06.2009 in Afyon Kocatepe University Atatürk Cultural Center. The panel has attracted intensive attention and local&national press has also showed great interest in the organization.
Mehmet Akif ASMAZ, who has declared that they will establish the first Biogas Power Plant that will be used to generate electricity and heat from poultry manure in cooperation with Afyon Gücbirligi Company in Afyonkarahisar, has said they will meet 4 percent of the annual electricity requirement of the city by means of the energy produced here. ASMAZ has also told there will be produced hourly 1 megawatt electricity and 1100 kilowatt heat, in addition to 35 tons solid and 45 tons liquid manure which are odorless and applicable to agriculture from poultry manure.
Only in Province of Afyon, there are raised seven million chickens. This amount reaches 550 millions throughout Turkey. Through the instrument of animal manure that is a renewable energy source, animal and agricultural wastes are recycled and electricity and heat energy are generated. Liquid organic manure and manure granules that are the raw materials for organic agriculture are also provided.

Reminding that Afyon Gücbirligi Poultry&Animal Husbandry Food and Organic Fertilizer Manufacture Industry and Trade Limited Company has been founded by 8 establishments that are dealing with poultry husbandry and egg production, ASMAZ has denoted that Afyon Gücbirligi obtains daily 100 to 130 tons poultry manure from 2 millions of layer hens. ASMAZ; who told an investment has been made for a bio-organic fertilizer plant and viol production plant used for egg packaging near Gucbirligi’s egg packing plant, has also denoted that the company has been converting poultry manure into organic fertilizer and puts on the market since 2004. ASMAZ has indicated that the plant has 300 thousand tons of manure capacity and there will be processed 100 thousand tons poultry manure as a beginning. He has added that they aim to reach two, four and even 6 megawatt established modular power in due course.
